Due to the rolling blackouts that are happening, we lost power at 4PM today. I have decided to keep all my servers offline for the time being in case we get any more unexpected outages. I will send another update once I bring my servers back online.

JC-Plex: New Photo Library

Hi Plex Family, I just wanted to let you know that I have just added a new Photos library to share family photos. I currently only have all of the ultrasound photos of Jack. You can browse the photos or play as a slide show on the Plex app. Just select the Photos library on JC-Plex server.

Plex Outage

Hi Plex Family, Just wanted to let you know that I am experiencing an internet issue. Suddenlink is not sending a tech out until Tuesday. You may be unable to use my Plex server, or it may stutter/buffer frequently over the next 48 hours until they can repair my connection. :( I'll update once everything is fixed. Josh Caluette

Hi Plex Family, I've created a simple little portal page to provide links to the various tools that I have running related to my Plex Server. These include a place to make new requests, sign up for newsletters, view server stats and play histories, etc. You can access the portal simply by going to https://plex.caluette.com. No login is required to access the portal, but you will need to login with your Plex account to access the various resources. If you have any questions or issues, please let me know! Josh Caluette

Hi Plex Family, I apologize for the downtime over the past couple of hours. I was making some hardware changes to improve server performance and ended up causing the Plex server to not boot. It is now back up and running again. The new video card should help with performance when transcoding occurs as the graphics card will handle this instead of the CPU. Please let me know if you encounter any problems or quality issues following these changes. Thanks! Josh Caluette

Plex Requests & companion mobile app available

Hi Plex Family, I just wanted to remind everyone that I have a service setup to allow you to search for movies and TV shows and make requests if there is something you want that I do not have. I get a notification for these requests and once I approve them they will automatically be downloaded and added to Plex. You can access my Plex Requests site at https://requests.caluette.com from any browser. When logging in, select the option to use your Plex account. There is also a mobile app version available for Android and iOS. The app is called Ombi and is $0.99 on both platforms, but seems to be nice. You can use the links at the bottom of this email to purchase and download the app. To use the Ombi mobile app: 1. Download and install the app for your device. 2. Open a web browser on your device and navigate to my Plex Requests URL (https://requests.caluette.com) 3. Sign in with your Plex account. 4. Once you are signed in, click the menu button in the top right corner of the page and select "Open Mobile App". 5. The Ombi app will launch and automatically sign you in using the same account you logged into the browser version with. 6. You can now use the Ombi app directly from your device to conveniently submit requests or browse for new things to request.
